The TáŧMáŧTÃYÃ Initiative is an Oyo state umbrella initiative covering high impart thematic areas targeting gaps and barriers to maternal and child healthcare. It is also the continuation of the existing Reproductive Maternal, Neonatal, Child Health (RMNCH) programs.
To contribute to a healthier and more prosperous Oyo state as we ensure healthy babies grow into healthy adults who can contribute to their communities and society.
To initiate a consultative process between all stakeholders to identify priority areas and identify clear strategic directions for Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child Health (RMNCH). With a mechanism for oversight and constant quality review, we will build a sustainable and strong healthcare system.
To reduce Maternal Mortality(MM) in Oyo state by 30%.
To reduce Neonatal Mortality (NM) by 20% by the next NDHS in 2023.
To increase health facility utilization rate by 60%.

The TáŧMáŧTÃYÃ Initiative is an Oyo state umbrella initiative covering high impart thematic areas targeting gaps and barriers to maternal and child healthcare. It is also the continuation of the existing Reproductive Maternal, Neonatal, Child Health (RMNCH) programs
Respected members of the community per ward recommended by the WDC would be responsible for the health of the families in their ward. They would ensure; immunization, hanging up mosquito nets, family planning and routine ANCs are taken seriously in their community.
Oyo state would acquire more ambulances and open a call center in Ibadan for quick response to emergency cases. Formal training of paramedics would also commence this year.
Access to medical consultation in areas with low medical coverage is made possible with certified pharmacies, laboratories and health centers signing up for the stateâs digital health platform. Voucher system would be introduced for low income communities.
Appropriate training would be given to respected members of the community with cars to safely transport people without means of transportation to the nearest PHC in case of an emergency.
A sponsorship program for pregnant women and children under five for healthcare financing as a sustainable way to access care. This would involve joint efforts from private organizations, associations and communities.
Unskilled birth attendants from various communities are funded through a 2year community midwifery program to build human capacity in PHCs in the state. Other opportunities would be explored to integrate other CBAs not meeting program criteria.
The initiative organised a day coordination meeting with the WHKs working in the five (5) pilot Local Governments namely; Ido, Atiba, Orelope, Iwajowa and Itesiwaju. The WHKs were reminded of their responsibilities and the qualities they need to possess as community health rangers in their respective Local Governments.
The Oyo state government in March 2021 started the upgrade and building on one (1) category three (3) thirteen (13) room Primary Healthcare Center (PHC) per ward in the state. We have three hundred and fifty-one (351) wards in Oyo state. All hands are on deck to complete the three hundred and fifty-one (351) PHCs by May 2022 to give our communities access to conducive healthcare centers. About two hundred and twenty (220) have been completed already.
The Insecticide Treated Net (ITN) campaign was funded in collaboration of the USAID through the US Presidential Malaria Initiative (PMI). The malaria net campaign flag off was held at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan on the 16th of August, 2021. Insecticide treated nets were distributed in all the thirty-three (33) local governments from 30th July to 26th August, 2021.
